Introduction
Alica Slovak (NAMAERA) ("Alica Slovak", "I", "me" or "my") is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly.
This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, store and protect your personal information when you visit this website, submit a Connection Form, subscribe to communications, purchase services, take part in sessions or otherwise interact with my business.
Who I Am
Alica Slovak (NAMAERA) is a UK-based sole trader providing personal development coaching and educational services, including Un-Circling™.
For the purposes of UK GDPR and applicable data protection laws, I am the data controller responsible for your personal information.
Information I Collect
Contact information: name, email address, country, preferred language and telephone number.
Connection Form information: the pattern or problem you would like to work on, what you have already tried, whether you are working with a therapist, doctor or other professional, and your answers to the suitability questions, including questions about crisis, dissociation, psychosis, eating disorders or substance dependence.
Session information: before your first session I ask for your location (city and country) on the day of each session, your own phone number in case the video connection fails, and the name, relationship and phone number of an emergency contact. Please let your emergency contact know that you have shared their details with me. I also keep session notes.
Payment information: payments are processed through Shopify and its payment providers. I do not store or have direct access to your full payment card details.
Website usage information: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and website activity, collected through cookies and similar technologies. Please see the Cookie Policy.
Sessions are not recorded.
Sensitive Information
Some of what you share, such as information about your emotional wellbeing, mental health or personal experiences, is special category data under UK GDPR. I process it only with your explicit consent, which you give when you submit the Connection Form and when you agree to the Client Agreement, and only to assess whether Un-Circling™ is suitable for you and to provide the sessions. You can withdraw that consent at any time; I will then stop using the information, except where I am required to keep it (see Data Retention).
How I Use Your Information and Why
I use your information:
• to assess whether Un-Circling™ is suitable for you (your consent, and steps you ask me to take before a contract);
• to deliver sessions, communicate about bookings and process payments (performance of our contract);
• to contact you by phone if the video connection fails, and to contact your emergency contact or the emergency services if there is a serious risk of harm to you or another person (our contract and, in an emergency, your vital interests);
• to send newsletters, only where you have subscribed (your consent);
• to improve website performance (legitimate interests);
• to meet legal, insurance and regulatory obligations (legal obligation and legitimate interests).
Confidentiality
Everything shared during our sessions is treated as confidential. I do not disclose it to anyone unless the law requires it, there is a serious risk of harm to you or another person, or you give written permission.
Feedback and Testimonials
I only publish feedback or a testimonial with your separate written permission, and you can withdraw that permission at any time.
Email Communications
If you subscribe to my newsletter, I may send newsletters, educational content and information about coaching opportunities. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting me.
Service Providers
I share your information only with the providers I need to run the business:
• Shopify (website hosting, forms and payments) and its payment processors;
• Zoom (online sessions);
• email marketing and website analytics providers.
These providers act on my instructions and are required to handle personal information securely.
Personal information is never sold. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.
International Transfers
Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where this occurs, appropriate safeguards are used in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
How Your Information Is Stored
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect your personal information. No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Data Retention
Session notes are stored securely, used solely for professional purposes and kept for seven years, as my professional insurance requires.
Connection Form answers from people who do not go on to book are deleted within 12 months.
Financial records are kept as long as tax law requires. Other information is kept only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected for, and then securely deleted.
Your Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete or request a copy of your personal information, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Beyond what I am required to keep, you can ask me to correct or delete your personal data at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact me. I may take reasonable steps to verify your identity first, and I will respond within one month.
Children
This website and my services are intended only for people aged 18 and over. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Complaints
If you have concerns about how your personal information is handled, please contact me first so that I can try to resolve them. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the United Kingdom or to your local data protection authority.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
